You know, I never know what to do with the site. Given what I do for a living paired with what Lew does for a living,
you'd think we'd have a totally flushed out and cool personal website. But alas, we don't. Not sure what I should have
up here. All of Lew's work is visible via various other "pro" type websites (as you can imagine). And I'm not 100%
comfortable with putting every video of the kids up on YouTube. I love technology...but I resist it sometimes as well.
Though I finally caved and got a "smart" phone. Needed it for work. However, my phone should not be smarter than me.
As far as I know, everything on this site works in current browsers (Firefox, IE11, and Chrome). I think you all know I
despise Internet Explorer - but it does work - so yay! I mainly use Firefox, and occassionally Google's Chrome. The
only time I use IE is when I have to - mind you when I test for work I have to hit IE7, IE8, IE9, IE10, AND IE11 as well
as Chrome and Firefox. I repeat...I despise IE.
That's all I have to say about that....Forrest Gump

2015 - First Snow Day
January 28, 2014 - So, we have had our first official "snow fall" for this winter. Schools were closed on Tuesday,
January 27th, 2015. But Erik thought he had overslept - he lept out of bed at 8:08a and ran downstairs and then frozen since he could see out
the office window. Took him a minute, but he put it together that school was closed. Both he and Evan were tickled.
Of course, Evan thought that meant they were done with school for the week. Had to burst his little bubble on that one.
And under the heading of "parenting done right!" - Evan is our little music fan. He listens to the music we do (yes, we are careful not to let him hear ALL the songs we do - just the "safe" ones). But this is relevant, I promise....even though he didn't have school - we still knew what "word study" homework he was suppose to have. We have his words for this week, and he had to pick six of the twelve words and write sentences with those words. One of the words he picked was "come". So, Lew and I are thinking "Would you like to come over to play?" or "May I come over?" - you know something like that...but Evan came up with his OWN sentence..."Come with me now." - Why is this funny (because, yes, Lew and I were laughing) - because it is the title of one of his favorite songs. We really couldn't argue with it. It is a proper sentence. It's one of those toe-tapping, everyone sings it, bar-type songs. You hear it and you can't help but sing along with it. So, we complimented him on his sentence and tried not to laugh to hard. He knew he'd done something cute...he was grinning like a cheshire cat.
We also were thankful for the snow-day. It seems it was timed well. Erik needed a day off. He is growing. Poor thing came home from school early on Monday with a really bad headache. And then Monday night, he did his not-so-lucid sleepwalking thing. He kept coming downstairs with the need to tell us something about some person that we don't know - nothing of which made any sense. The next day was the snow day, so we had some rest. He was active and "up" most of the day - but went through a short period of not feeling good. Then last night was a long night. Poor guy. He came into our room around midnight crying. But he couldn't seem to articulate what was wrong with him. He ended up crawling in our bed. He spent most the night whimpering and "shifting" around. You know, like when you just hurt but can't seem to find that position that doesn't hurt. I'm positive he was suffering growing pains. He popped right out of bed at 6:15 this morning and was ready to go. Lew and I, however, were exhausted. LOL
I sure don't envy kids their growing pains. One good thing about not being a kid anymore, right?
